Rich and varied international design collaborations

TIMENDOTES is committed to opening the door for artisans into the creative world of the 21st century. By collaborating with organizations dedicated to art, craft, fashion, design and heritage, the Association strengthens its vision of positively impacting rural craftswomen.

Craft is the basis upon which true luxury depends. Craft links the past, the present and the future by evoking memory, culture and time. The distinction between “craft” and “design” must be challenged. TIMENDOTES values the unique regional languages of design and recognizes the creative minds behind beautiful handcrafted objects.

The couture label Maison Mayad provides financial support to the TIMENDOTES Association. Mayad’s cocktail dresses, evening gowns, and elevated day wear all form a garderobe for the modern woman who seeks meaningful connections in her clothes.

The Moroccan sfifa is given new life as graphic borders on the iconic Maison Mayad coat made from double-face Italian cashmere. The coat’s sweeping sculptural shape pays homage to the Moroccan caftan.

Another ground-breaking collaboration that TIMENDOTES has undertaken is with Paris-based designer Cem Cinar, who incorporates the sfifa in cutting-edge ways into his collections.

TIMENDOTES also cooperates with the Renaissance Project, which provides training programs and work placements for creative talents from disadvantaged immigrant communities in the Paris suburbs. Recently their students have created breathtaking couture pieces as part of garment construction and decorative elements.

TIMENDOTES is also planning a collaboration with The Kalhath Institute (India), to explore cultural exchanges between embroidery and the sfifa.

TIMENDOTES collaborated on the exhibition titled “Moroccan Women: between ethics and Aesthetics” (creation of the centre for Jewish-Moroccan culture) imagined by Paul Dahan), held at the Jewish Museum in Brussels in 2023.  This highlighted the vital role that fashion and traditional craft play in the relationship between self-expression and ethical practice.

We encourage multicultural exchanges in the creative sectors since we believe creation transcends borders and enriches experiences.
